We announced it on the 7th this is just a quick reminder to anyone who owns an iPod Touch 2g onwards that they can upgrade to the latest and greatest iOS4 from within iTunes for free right now.
If you have all ready upgraded let us know what you think?

I just used it.
I love the idea of multi tasking.
I don’t know why, I can’t play the games I had installed after jailbreaking the iPod.
That sucks!
So Apple has made sure you can’t use apps downloaded from jailbreak services!! This is not cool!
Otherwise, I love the idea of finally allowing people to put a background picture for the home screen!
Multitasking works well.
The rest I yet have to learn.
Anyone who knows how to create new folders?

You will be able to use those apps again once the devs release an iOS4 jailbreak and a new version of AppSync
. As for folders just hold your finger on an app for a few secs until they all start shaking and drag an app onto another to automagically create a new folder.

Hey Jamie.
Thanks for the folder thing.
I figured while I by mistake shifted the icons from place to place!
Anyway, thanks for telling.
And any news about the iOS4 Jailbreak?
I so want to download those games again.
BTW, Since I updated my iPod Touch to iOS4…My accelerometer just stops working at very random times.
It stops for a few days, and then it starts working again..it just keeps happening all the time.
Any idea what’s the problem?
I even restored the iPod thrice.

@Abhay No idea about the accelerometer, try reverting to 3.1.3 to see if that solves it otherwise it may be a hardware issue.
iOS4 has been jailbroken but there are to many variables and no unified jb yet so not worth the risk yet. We will make a post as soon as we here about a public stable jailbreak

Abhay, I have the same problem, ever since upgrading. Usually if I hold the top button until I get the red slider, shut down, and then turn back on, it works again – for a while. Sucks.

yes mine has been doing the same, ever day or so the accelerometer just stops working altogether, none of my apps that require tilt work and i can’t even tilt over to cover sort. if I restore from Backup or just turn the iPod off for a hour or two it sometimes works again, but not for long. I think I will take it into an apple store to see if they can help.

I did some digging and it could be down to a rogue app running in multi task, open up multi tasking then hold your finger on one of the apps until it starts to wobble you can then stop every app that’s running in the background.

My Ipod touch 32Gb 3gen is doing the same thing, right after the upgrade to IOS4. There is an icon on the top next to the battery icon and it looks like a lock with an arrow circling around it. I am wondering if this means that the accelerometer is locked? Also been searching all over the internet about this icon and haven’t found anything.

@Chris that is a feature in iOS4 if you double tap the home button to bring up multi-tasking then swipe your finger to the right. You should now see some iPod controls and the accelerometer lock icon.
You can lock the accelerometer in portrait or landscape.
